Follow the Great Migration across the Serengeti

This African safari tour through Tanzania and Kenya follows the Great Migration across the Serengeti. If baby animals are what you’re looking for, the Serengeti Nursery tour is sure to delight! The African birthing season, from January through March, provides an opportunity to witness the growth of great herds of wildebeest by 500,000 calves. Although it is difficult to pinpoint the two-week period that most of the calves will be born, the African savanna is filled with a sea of these migratory beasts, their young, and their traveling companions, herds of zebra.

The Great Migration from Tanzania to Kenya takes place from June to August and continues into the Massai Mara during September. The nomadic herd crosses the river and moves into Kenya, where it continues the migration in search of grasslands. In October the animals cross the river back into the Serengeti. These dramatic river crossings and huge herds of wildebeest and zebra offer countless photographic opportunities.

Lifetime Adventures Travel has made arrangements for you to visit the indigenous Bushmen people of Africa, a well-studied culture, on this 16-day African safari for an up close and personal encounter. There are about 85,000 Bushmen in Africa today, teetering on the cusp of cultural extinction. They are among the most intensively studied aboriginal people on Earth.

Reserve your spot on this African safari for the adventure of a lifetime.
